Helping people achieve health and well-being is my life long work. I was 8 when I told my mother I would like to be a Chiropractor. Age 13 I read the book “How to help your brain injured child with physical therapy” by Glen Doman. This special interest has influenced my post graduate study and practice direction.  I graduated with a Chiropractic degree from RMIT Melbourne in 1989. In 2010 I completed a Masters degree in Paediatric Chiropractic from the University of Wales (UK).  I have a family practice in Collie which I established 25 years ago. For the past 5 years I have also consulted at the Kids Development Centre in Bunbury.

I use a variety of techniques in practice. This includes special gentle techniques for babies, children and those who are fragile. I believe a holistic approach is ideal, encouraging and coaching my clients to move well, eat well and think well.

I am passionate about learning, health and well being. My personal commitments to that include regular exercise (F45), beach walks, healthy cooking and eating and mindfulness meditation.

I live on a small farm on Roelands hill. My husband and I have 3 young adult children. In our recreation time we love to travel and snow ski

Clients: Families, babies, children, pregnant women, weekend warriors, elderly, people interested in optimising their health potential.

Practitioners collaboration:  Neurotherapist, naturopaths, GP’s, physiotherapists, massage therapists, OT’s, exercise physiologists

Hi, I am Kat a chiropractor currently working at Soul Care Chiropractic in Abbey.

I have been practising since 2013, and have always worked regionally, relocating to the southwest in 2015, and working in Australind for many years before opening my own clinic in Abbey in 2021.

I knew I wanted to be a chiropractor from a young age, but my interest in health, the nervous system and helping people has evolved continuously throughout my career.

I now use a blend of many techniques to create my own unique version of holistic health care. I believe we all have the potential to thrive and that our bodies know exactly what to do to heal when we listen intuitively and get our minds out of the way. The modalities I use in conjunction with traditional chiropractic adjustments include

· Neuro Emotional Technique (www.netmindbody.com.au)

· Neural Organisational Technique (https://www.notglobal.com.au/)

· Advanced Biostructural Correction (https://www.abcaustralasia.org.au/what-is-abc/)

· Anatomy Trains Fascial Structural integration (https://www.anatomytrains.com/about-us/)

· Australian Bush Flower and West Australian Bush Flower Essences

We are more than just physical beings, so I love to help people connect with their own versions of physical, nutritional, emotional, and spiritual health to align with the real them.

Clients: People who are proactive on their own health journey, those who know their stress affects them physically and are looking for options, musculoskeletal issues with a whole body approach, families, the elderly.

Practitioners collaboration: Physios, Masseuses, Neuro Emotional Technique Practitioner, Naturopaths, Nutritionists, Counsellors & Psychologists, Personal Trainers and Exercise Physiologists, other chiropractors, local GPs and anyone who is already on your health care team.

Monika is an accomplished and passionate chiropractor with a particular interest in children’s health. After graduating from Murdoch University in 2011, Monika continued her studies at the Australian College of Chiropractic Paediatrics (ACCP) with a Postgraduate Diploma in Paediatrics completed in 2017.

Helping children achieve their optimal potential is a strong area of interest for Monika. Utilising the Well Balanced Child programme she is able to help children with behavioural, social and academic dysfunctions through a series of daily sensory, physical, and academic exercises which target troubled areas and restore balanced functionality.

Trained in a variety of techniques and skills, Monika can apply the Sacro-Occipital Technique, Activator Method, SD (Sympathetic Dysfunction) Protocol, Kinesiology and dry needling. Continuing to develop her knowledge in areas of interest she is completing further studies in Childhood Neurodevelopmental Disorders and Vagus Nerve dysfunction.

One of Monika's favourite topics is Vagus Nerve; its function or dysfunction, and treatment. Vagus Nerve is the longest nerve in the body. It connects the brain to many important organs throughout the body. The vagus nerve is also a key part of the parasympathetic “rest and digest” nervous system. It influences our breathing, digestive function and heart rate, all of which can have a huge impact on mental health.

Through rich and varied experiences, Monika has come to understand the importance of health, wellbeing and health education on an international level. She has worked at the World Health Organization (WHO) in Switzerland; a Non-Governmental Organization in Mozambique, and as a Chiropractor and a Lecturer at the International Institute of Health Science in Colombo, Sri Lanka. She volunteered in India with the "Hands on India" project and has recently travelled to Tanzania to deliver chiropractic care to children at the Chakuwama project in Dar Es Salaam.

When Monika’s not working or studying, she spends time with her family, traveling, camping, hiking, running, reading, cooking and gardening.

Clients: Babies and children, pregnancy, musculoskeletal issues, headaches, posture issues, low back and neck pain, children with neurobehavioural issues, sympathetic dysfunction, vagus nerve, craniosacral therapy.

Practitioners collaboration: Acupuncture, GP’s, midwifery, physio, fitness instructors, OT’s, neurotherapists, lactation consultants, audiologists, school and teachers.
